After creating two renders, one with Evee, and one with Cycles, the Cycles particle physics is dramatically different.



Attached is a simplified blend file. I removed non-essential objects.



Event Timeline

Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) lowered the priority of this task from Needs Triage by Developer to Confirmed, Medium.

@Sergey Sharybin (sergey) It doesn't simulate correctly with render animation (both cycles/eevee). It only works if you have baked the particle system. I could have sworn we already had an issue with this, but I can't find it :/

Particle dynamics is to be baked prior to render, otherwise it's hard to give predictable results.
