Blender 2.8 closes when attempting to use Eevee or edit material properties #67802

Operating system: Windows 8.1
Graphics card: Intel(R) HD Graphics

Version: 2.80 Release Candidate 3

Every build of Blender 2.8 so far has had this same issue for me unfortunately. Whenever I attempt to render or use the rendered view mode in the Eevee engine, Blender freezes for a moment before closing to desktop without showing any error. This also happens when I touch any material settings. These crashes occur regardless of what is in my scene, whether it be complex objects or just the default cube. Unfortunately this makes Blender 2.8 unusable for me, and I suspect this issue is related to my particular machine as it has persisted for so long.

{F7631195}I have attached a generated text file of my system info.

Please update your graphics driver to a more recent version and check if that resolved the problem.

This is another Intel driver version (4.0.0 - Build 10.18.10.3621) not in the GG.context_local_shaders_workaround list that might need to be.

CPU is Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU N2830 @ 2.16GHz.

The latest Intel video drivers can be found here:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/80939/Graphics-Drivers

Updating to the latest 5069 build for your Bay Trail CPU which is probably https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28799/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-?product=80939 should trigger the workaround in Blender and might resolve your issue.

Thank you for your responses. I have tried to update my driver to the version suggested, however it refuses to install due to the manufacturer's driver I have currently installed. There is no newer version of this manufacturer's driver from what I can tell.error.PNG

Disregard my earlier message; I have found a workaround to install the new driver in spite of my current one. This seems to have fixed the issue. Thank you for your help!
