If the shift+H button and the "/" button of the numeric keypad work the same way.
The "/" button of the numeric keypad does not work in the visualized mode.
The object is not hidden from view.
Button hide object.

Remove the camera jump if the / numeric keypad button is pressed.
The camera jumps into such a place that you have to adjust the view again.

This does indeed seem inconsistent at least. @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) thoughts?

So, "/" object isolation is not working as expected in Cycles rendered view. This works in 2.79 rendered view.
If I remember correctly, Dalai Felinto worked on "/" feature for 2.8.
