System Information
Operating system: Windows 7 64 bit
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce GTX 970

Blender Version
Broken: v2.80 (release)

Short description of error
After setting a mask's handle to "auto" handle type it cannot be rotated on its main point until one of its outer handles has been selected.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Create a mask and add points, select any or all points, press v and set the handle type to "auto", click directly on any point (not the handles) and attempt to rotate. If reproducible the handles will not rotate. Once one of a point's handles has been selected you can then rotate it by selecting the point directly.

Dont think this is a bug.
While this is documented for masks specifically, the same principles as for other curves apply:

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/2.81/modeling/curves/structure.html#handle-types

Automatic (yellow handles)
This handle has a completely automatic length and direction which is set by Blender to ensure the smoothest result. These handles convert to Aligned handles when moved.

When handles are aligned (after moving an automatic handle it gets converted to aligned handles), then handles rotate along with the control point.

It would make it more clear if rotation would actually not even start its thing if automatic handles are in place [not go into modal, draw the line and print to the header], but the way the transform system works atm. this would require quite a bit of refactor, so this would be more of a TODO/request.

In any case: this would not be considered a bug atm, will close... (feel free though to comment again if issues persist)
