System Information
Operating system: macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80 (2019-07-29)

Short description of error
I was using the Modeling Tab. I tried to select edges on the default cube like I had a couple of days ago, but it was selecting the incorrect edges. Here is video of the problem in action: https://twitter.com/Alhedgehog/status/1159719955996135425?s=20
I can select verts and faces just fine. Only edges have this problem. I have tried restarted the computer, reseting PRAM, and reinstalled Blender. None of this has worked. This problem just emerged today.

Yes. It happens just the same with Version 2.82 (2.82 2019-12-05).

I guess you are running on an almost 9 year old laptop. If you have a second better graphic card, try enabling it in the preferences when you work in blender.

What exact macbook model do you have? Although I'm not sure someone will be intereset to fix a problem for obsolete hardware.

It's a 2011 Mac Mini, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5. I just figured it was worth a shot to bring up. It's either this computer or nothing at the moment.

There are two things to note in your setup.
MAC has already stopped supporting OpenGL, so some known OpenGL driver issues will probably never be fixed.
To solve this problem the plan is to make Blender also support Vulkan (in addition to OpenGL).

But I fear your GPU is old and doesn't have Vulkan support.
So there is not much we can do in this case :\

Make sure graphics drivers are up to date.

Rectifying, MacOS does not support Vulkan either but it does support Metal and there is an API that allows the conversion of Vulkan to Metal.
Therefore a greater chance that this problem will be fixed when blender has Vulkan support :)
