I would like to suggest some focus on rigging in development, generally.

If the 3D animation is the main course, I am suggesting better drivers support. If the riggers trying to help animators speed up the work, with something like soft Ik, or advanced dependency, one line is not enough. And the speed of hard-driving puppets is topic on its own.
