I don't know much about linux. I tried to install glibc (2.23) through Ubuntu software center! That also didn't work!
I went through all the posts on the support forum and I couldn't find anything that matches my crash file.
I even tried a snap version. Nothing happens!

I just looked into an post and tried this

./blender --debug-gpu --debug-gpu-shaders --factory-startup &> startup-log.txt

This helps to open. I tried creating an object in blender. It works. But I have to keep using this command to be able to use Blender 2.8
test_shaft.blend

  • Have you tried upgrading to the newest official nvidia driver?
  • could you post startup-log.txt (the output of the command you tried)?
  • could you post the result of Help > Save System Info ?

I used to be on the nouveau driver. Now I've changed to the nvidia driver version 340.107. It seems like there might be no other new drivers for my card. I've attached the startup-log. I'm doing this by using the following command.

./blender --debug-gpu --debug-gpu-shaders --factory-startup &> startup-log.txt

system-info.txt

Tesla NVidia architecture should be supported indeed, although opensource drivers are not. Looks like it works well with the official nvidia drivers now, so guess we can close that report.
