System Information
Operating system: Darwin-15.6.0-x86_64-i386-64bit 64 Bits
Graphics card: Intel Iris Pro OpenGL Engine Intel Inc. 4.1 INTEL-10.14.74

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 75), branch: master, commit date: 2019-07-29 14:47, hash: f6cb5f5449
Worked: —

Short description of error
When a user wants to add a image sequence in the VSE he/she can do so by going to Add > Image/Sequence. However the users needs to select image manually. While in other locations like for instance UV editor, there is a checkbox "Detect Sequence". I find that the menu title in the VSE Add menu is either false stating or its a missing feature.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Add Video Editor to workspace
  2. In the VSE go to Add > Image/Sequence, in the dialog there is no "detect sequence"
  3. To add sequence now, user needs to manually select all the images. Select all would not work if you use the folder as global output folder.

See below comparing shots of VSE add dialog and UV editor dialog

UV editor dialog, shows detect image sequence

VSE Add menu states "Sequence", yet its tedious to do so

Here's an old video but actually shows really well what the issue is adding image sequence in the VSE. It show that the adding a checkbox makes it so much easier to add a image sequence

It's a feature that would be useful to add, not a bug.

Images in the video editor are entirely different from image datablocks and related operators.

Okay, but why is i such a hustle to add a sequence of images then? Should this be as easy as in the rest of the app, seems inconsistent behavior to me
