Short description of error
I've just started learning to use Blender via Andrew Price's Donut tutorial. I've got to the stage where I'm in the particle settings and adding the sprinkles when Blender crashes. I'm not sure what's causing it. I've tried in both 2.8 and 2.81 and i have the same issue in both so I'm beginning to think it's my laptop that can't cope but wanted to post in here to see if anyone is able to help shed some light
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
In the particle settings tab adding the sprinkles as per the tutorial, I've got hair selected and rendering as a object . Orientation axis is set to normal under the advance tab, this is where i start to have issues, the program will lock up my entire machine forcing me to power it off . I've attached my tutorial blend file as well donut_2.blend

@onslack : does above file work for you?
Blender keeps crashing/Locking up my machineto Particles: Blender keeps crashing/Locking up my machineHi Philipp, I've downloaded your file onto my laptop and it crashes after a few seconds of the file being loaded up.
I have now updated a Pc of mine which i haven't used in a few months and downloaded both Blender and your file, no crashes what so ever. So I'm going to say my poor laptop can't handle the stuff I'm asking it to do
Thank you for your help

You can also change the amount of sprinkles that show on the donut which solved this same problem I was having with my laptop. Change the 'Number' setting under 'Emission' category under the Particles settings (do this before you set any other settings for the particles so it prevents from freezing). I changed mine to 20 (was 1000 before).
