Graphics card:GeForce GTX 1080 running the 415.27 driver
Intel® Core™ i7-7820X CPU @ 3.60GHz × 16

Blender Version
Broken: (2.81 Alpha, ec8df6f2cf9df, master, 2019-09-19)

Short description of error
I have an XP pen artist e21 tablet running evdev drivers. and it crashes blender 2.81 on start. it runs as soon as I disconnect tablet.

I can't reproduce the issue, so I did a bit of a blind guess. Can you test if it's fixed in the very latest build?

I had some time to do some tests today.
when I tested the beta Xp-pen Linux driver and the libwacom driver, the latest build worked. so the problem is specific to the evdev drivers.
I hope this helps somehow.
