System Information
Operating system: Win10
Graphics card: AMD 7870 2GB, driver 19.9.1-19.9.3 tested
Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.81-ab519b91b2c4
Worked: blender-2.81-03bf290eae99October 4thShort description of error
I tried to open Blender and I got this message.
Now I know that in Blender Cycles 2.77-2.78 stopped supporting AMD 7870 (https://developer.blender.org/T51659) because of the driver's compiler and memory error on AMD GCN1 cards.
I was able to use 2.80 and 2.81 build from 2 weeks ago, only Cycles would render slow only on CPU.

you can try to press Help button in advice window, maybe update GPU drivers from AMD support
site
can help a lot, As Far I Know Amd CGN1 generation GPU chipset meet Blender minimum requirementYes, I know. Didn't help.

This is from a new update, which adds messages for unsupported and limited supported gpus.
It seems right now the newest driver is blacklisted, as it has some bugs, so you either need to revert to an older driver, an older version of 2.81 or wait until this driver version gets whitelisted or a new driver fixing the bug gets released from AMD.

@brecht is there a fix for my card?
Blender should open without error again in the next build, which is being built now.
Thank you. Could you check if AMD fixed Cycles for GCN1 cards? We talked about in 2017 so maybe they've fixed the issue with newest drivers.
