Blender Version
Broken: 2.81 Beta, 2019-10-15, cfb6ffd48f77

Short description of error
Cannot rotate scene in 3D viewport after opening any project of 2.81. Have tried installing 2.81 again but error still exists.
It works well when open a project of 2.80, and possibly works well when open a project of 2.80 but saved by 2.81 last time.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1, Create a project by 2.80.
2, Open it by 2.81, do some changes, save it and close blender.
3, Open the project again, now the scene cannot be rotated, at least in my computer.

In step 2, if keep blender 2.81 running and then open the project again, it works well.

Can you provide a .blend file that allows us to reproduce the issue?
Please also try to reset to factory settings.

Is only rotation not working, or other things as well? Can it be an issue with your middle mouse button?

2.81 works well now, after reseting it to factory settings and changing the items manually to what I like.

It seems that it's not because of the project's version, it's because of the way how we change the user preferences.

I know the user preference file is userpref.blend, so I just copied the 2.80 userpref.blend and pasted it into 2.81, then the rotation broke down.
Maybe some others are also broken.

That's dangerous, but how can we change the preferences quickly?

Jacques Lucke (JacquesLucke) claimed this task.

Glad it works now.

I'm not sure what you mean with that last question exactly. Please use e.g. for questions like that one.

That's my 2.80 preferences, with some small changes and a third-party add-on.
