Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Create new .blend
  • Add another cube{F7908410}
  • Select Cube then Cube.001
  • Set parent -> to object
  • Select Cube.001 and go to obgect tab -> instancing -> faces
  • Select Cube and export as *.obj with selected only flag - exported obj is empty

This done on purpose, see https://developer.blender.org/diffusion/BA/browse/master/io_scene_obj/export_obj.py$325
(usually this makes sense -- users usually dont wont stuff that is instanced elsewhere to show up in the export as well... same as rendering [they also dont show up there])

"Workaround" is to disable Faces Instancing on the instancer (Tactile_array_instancer in your case) temporarily, then export...

Will have to close this one, thx for the report anyways...
