Short description of error
After Override "collection" which include armature and mesh, then "Add library override" for armature pose data (green human icon) from outliner cause crash blender
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
make simple character (armature and one mesh) under collection , then rename collection as character , save the scene (eg baserig.blend, or use attached file (szanne wighted by one bone)srig.blend
open new scene.(file new), then FIle>link, select the baserig.blend > click" collection" > select "character" in collection folda > click link
3 In outliner, select "character" collection. 3d view, >object>Relations>Make Library override
4 In outliner , select Mesh data (green icon) >r-click>Add library override. it work without problem.
(it need to edit shape keys value of original)
5 in outliner, select Armature data (green human icon = Pose bone root) >r-click>Add library override.
blender crash.
It happen about all override character (rig and mesh)
Though I may need not step 5 (try to local override for override armature pose data), I think it seems wrong action (do not know if there is case, we need to override armature data)
But if it is wrong action, offer info or show erroer message, without crash blender.

Hi, thanks for report.
Can confirm this crashes. I could only get it to crash if I select "Armature" when I do Make Library Override. I didn't need to Add Library Override to mesh in outliner, only to Armature.

Here is backtrace:
As Anthony mentioned, this crash seems happen, everytime when I try to local override armature-data
from outliner after override character collection. (I hope my step 1 to 3 is correct way, to override character colleciton (rig and meshes) in another blender scene.
The reason why I add step 4 is to show difference, when I make local override for mesh-data
(it not cause clash, and you may need it if you hope to edit shape keys (eg re-assgin driver) of override character . it seems work for me.
Then I do not know, if there is case, I need to override armature-data of override collection , , but I test it to correct drivers then just see blender crash.

I think that was actually solved recently as part of another report's fix. At least I cannot reproduce the issue anymore here. Please re-open the report if you can still reproduce that bug with current master (2.83 alpha) builds.
