Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.82 (sub 7), branch: master, commit date: 2020-02-12 16:20, hash:

Worked: (optional)
Short description of error
when baking the smoke simulation (with or without noise), and than rendering with OpenCL (dosent happen with CPU) blender hangs after a few tiles and a few samples. I waited for a long time, but nothin happens anymore and canceling the rendering results in a crash
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
In the .blend file I attached, bake the smoke simulation (with or without noise) and than render with cycles, OpenCL, and wait for a few tiles to render.

you missed the blend file
Open CL smoke bug.blend i'm sorry, I accidentally deleted it. Here it is
crashed while baking:

I rendered 100 frames but was unable to reproduce the bug on a Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.13586 Core Profile Context 19.50.01.05 26.20.15001.5006
It is a GPU a little older than yours but works with the same driver (only the version is a bit different).
As I was unable to reproduce the problem with this similar setup, I find it very difficult for someone else to reproduce it.
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18941 64 Bits
thats strange, its even the same architecture(Polaris).
I've tested a lot today and it dosen't happen with Tile sizes of 64 and lower, extremly low sample count or volume without simulation data. Also Raw cache worked, but not VDB or Uni cache. RAM and VRAM are both utilized lower than 50%. (combining CPU and GPU or disabeling Noise had no impact).

The cause of problems so dependent on the setup is very difficult to investigate.
Have you tried upgrading GPU drivers?
See https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html
That was the first thing I tried when I had the Problem, but the Update had no impact. I searched for new drivers today, but they are up to date. The manual also was not helpfull for me, but the error dosen't seem to be a comon problem and as you sad very Hardware configuration dependent.

The Bug seems to be fixed in 2.83.10. I rendered the file a few times today and had no problems
