System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce RTX 2070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 442.19

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.82 (sub 7), branch: master, commit date: 2020-02-12 16:20, hash: 77d23b0bd7
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Save file, reopen. Some parts+children are moved relatively to other parts,

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Have constructed a 3D printer. When saving, closing blender and re-open the saved file every time the whole Z-Axis (and its childs) is in the wrong position: it is moved approximately 111mm in positive direction. So the linear ball bearings are far away from their rails. All other parts stay in correct position.

Please find attaced two screenshots: One before saving, the second after loading the saved file and attaching a measurement.

afterReload.jpg

Unfortunately the blend file is ~160MB. I put it compressed (43MB) on my web site: www.zabex.de/zidex11.zip
If you like to fiddle around with it: move vertical red "arrow" to move the Z-Axis vertically (that is the parent of the axis). Its first child is the 40x20mm Aluminium bar that holds the extruder rail. Move that bar so that the vertical rails and spindles fits through the ball bearings (move Y approximately -111mm).
Save file. If you close blender and open that file again: notice the offset of the axis.

Best regards,
Zabex

Thanks for the report. Please simplify the file and upload it here.

Normally .blend files can be simplified by removing most objects and disabling settings, until the problem reveals itself more clearly.

Did a lot of tests and found the reason: There was an animation with two keyframes on that axis. Maybe that explains the behaviour, but it is not satisfying.
Try the following with the attached BLEND file that is reduced to a single object:
zidex12.zip

  • Open file
  • Move object to the right
  • save file
  • open file again

You will see, that your movement was not saved.
The only solution for me at the moment is, to delete all keyframes.

Best regards,
Zabex

The issue here is that you have a keyframed animation. You moved the object, but didn't update the keyframe to the new location before saving. When opening the file, Blender loads the keyframed animation location. Even without saving, you will see the same thing happens if you hit play: the object jumps back to the keyframed location.

Here is your file with an updated (by 106.5 mm) keyframe location.
zidex11_rekeyed_106.5mm.blend.zip

Closing as this isn't a bug in Blender.
