System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.3.0-40-generic-x86_64-with-debian-buster-sid 64 Bits
Graphics card: Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 620 (Kaby Lake GT2) Intel Open Source Technology Center 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 19.2.8

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.82 (sub 7), branch: master, commit date: 2020-03-12 05:06, hash: 375c7dc4ca
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
I tried so many times to make effector object to contain the fluid in mantaflow. But it is flowing right through the effector object i.e not colliding with the walls of the mesh

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]

  1. Create a simple cylinder from the Add Mesh menu (Shift + A > Mesh > Cylinder)
  2. Go to Edit Mode by pressing 'Tab'
  3. Select the top face of the cylinder.
  4. Delete the top face by pressing X > Faces. The cylinder becomes a vessel with one open end
  5. Using the solidify modifier add some thickness to the cylinder.
  6. Set it as Fluid > Effector > Collision in Physics Tab
  7. Create a UV Sphere from the Add Mesh menu (Shift + A > Mesh > UV Sphere) and place it right above the open cylinder.
  8. Selecting the UV Sphere, go to Object Menu, select Quick Effects > Quick Liquid
  9. Select the fluid domain and click Bake Data .
  10. The fluid flows right through the cylinder as if there was nothing there

https:*developer.blender.org/T74652#889308 It seems cylinder also needs to have rigid body properties. Please checkout some support websites like https:*blender.stackexchange.com to rule out human error.

Because you made cylinder too thin for 64 resolution...
add surface thickness to it and made it a bit more thick (you had 0.05, i made it 0.1) and you will have no leaks
