Rendering prevent particles to collide with other objects #75217

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.17763-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: Quadro K600/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 353.30

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.82 (sub 7), branch: master, commit date: 2020-03-12 05:06, hash: 375c7dc4ca
Worked: Never (2.8+)

Short description of error
Particles generated by a particle emitter will collide with objects when still in the Blender workspace, but once we try rendering the animation, we can see particles aren't colliding with objects anymore, particles are just going through them.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Create any object that you want your particles to collide with (a plan, for example)
  2. Create a particle emitter above your object. I wanted it to emit red glowing cube particles so i made the particles based on a cube object with a red Emission modifier (see in the .blend file)
  3. Enable collisions on your object (for me, the plan) and even on the cube being used as a particle (just to ensure it will collide)
  4. Press play : it works ! Particle are colliding with the object
  5. However, now render your animation in a .avi file
  6. On the final animation, you can see it's not colliding anymore, like if you hadn't enabled collisions

Note : You can see it in the .blend file but everything is in the same collection. I even tried restarting blender, moving the cube part to a different collection, and some other things but none of this worked

Don't know if this is normal, but there is a workaround: bake the particle simulation before rendering.
(Rendering single frames, one by one also gives the correct result, but render animation in any format doesn't work.)

I've tried baking the particle simulation before rending. It worked however, even there are now some bugs with the particles. At some point, they might appear instantly at a different place. Collision seems to be fixed but particles move from times to times to random places, in an unwanted way.

All physics must be baked before rendering, this is currently a known limitation (and the solution will probably involve warning about unbaked physics before rendering).

However I can't reproduce issues with particles moving to random places in the attach .blend file, after baking and rendering the animation.
