When drawing with Grease Pencil in a 2D Animation tab, when I have not yet saved my project, Blender seems to instantly crash at times when I am pressing Ctrl+Z to undo or Shift+Ctrl+Z to redo.
Since I did not save there is no file to show for this and nothing that is recoverable as far as I know of. So far it only happens when I'm lost in the moment drawing something cool forgetting to save. Then suddenly its gone forever. So as far as replicating the bug goes, make sure you are really inspired and forgetting to save your work.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Please try https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/recover.html if you haven't done so already.
@dupoxy Thanks. It did actually load. I thought an initial save might be required in order to load this. I guess 'Recover Last Session' only works for saved files that were properly closed?
Hopefully this crash bug can get fixed. It has been happening fairly early in sessions. Like there were not complex models or high volume of grease pencil verts.

Cannot reproduce here.
Just to make sure we are all on the same page: could you please share your .blend file just before step (4)?
@StephenSwaney Im a month behind. 442.74-desktop-win8-win7-64bit-international-whql
Updating now.
@lichtwerk I can, but considering it has also happened on a new scene after having just set up for drawing and only drawn a handful of test lines with some undo's, im not sure it matter.
I have not run into a crash like this (yet) when ive already saved my project. So far it has only occurred when drawing and undoing actions while drawing in a project that has not been saved.
This was the recovered file saved as a new file. I was a little further along for this particular one before it crash.

I'm unable to reproduce with 2.83.
I don't think we must tag as Grease Pencil because it looks more related to Undo.
This has still been happening quite often for me in 2.83. Is there a way to gather a crash dump when it happens to shine a little more light on why it crashes? Though im not sure if that happens since there is not even an error message that pops up afterward.

@Ghost_Train I am looking at older reports, is this still an issue? Or have anything changed?
Changed status from 'Needs Developer To Reproduce' to: 'Needs User Info'
@Ghost_Train I am looking at old open reports where I am a subscriber.
Is this still a problem? Or has something changed?
This ticket is now in "Needs Information from User" Status.
This is a Complete report (except for the .blend), but I cannot reproduce it.
If it has no reply after a week, we will assume the issue is gone and close the report. (following the Triaging Playbook )

@dupoxy
I did not see the message in time (or at all). looks like I just missed it too.
I just came back to say I am still running into this even on 2.92.0.
It is quite frustrating as work just vanishes in the process and is not recovered if I choose to recover last session.
Now I know its not specifically related to Grease Pencil. It just happens on occasion, regardless of what area im working in.
A friend pointed me to Recover - Auto-Save. Seems like that should be on the Startupscreen instead, or in addition to Recover Last Session.
After a crash 'Recover Last Session' usually does not work at all. It is the Auto-Saves that save the day.
