System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.18362-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 970/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 446.14

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83.0, branch: master, commit date: 2020-06-03 14:38, hash: 211b6c29f7
Worked: Never

Short description of error
Every file I open has the "Faces" or "Tris" or "Verts" info fields in the bottom left displayed with random dots and commas in them, instead of giving useful information, making it illegible

Honestly, I've been dealing with this issue for like.. as long as I can remember, I even had this problem back in 2.79. I'm not really sure what's causing it, I tried stretching the window across two different screens thinking it might be a resolution thing, but it's not. I even tried deleting my startup file and going back to vanilla, but no dice. Here's my startup file if you think you can glean some info from it, and some screenshots of the problem.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open Blender
Look in bottom left corner
Be dejected.

Listen, I'm not looking for a solution, I'm pretty sure this is something dumb on my side that I can't figure out how to fix, but I was told to submit this as a bug in the blender discord, so here we are. Thanks in advance.

It's going to be changed in 2.90.
D7534: UI: Statistics Changes D7410: UI: Show Stats in 3DView
and I cannot redo the bug in the same 2.83 version, on macOS.

I even tried deleting my startup file

Can you retry after renaming this config folder to something else too ?
C:\Users\<>\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.83\config\

I think that you can solve this problem if you try adjusting the point size setting for widget text and/or the widget text label.
It may be that the default setting is somehow incorrect for your combination of monitor resolution and/or display card setting.

There are two font styles, style->widget and style->widgetlabel.
In some cases, one style is used to calculate the button width, while the text itself uses another style.
As a result this only works correctly if the font sizes are equal.

{F8902422, size=full}

{F8902423, size=full}

This is an example where everything works properly:

{F8902424, size=full}
