Remesh modifier destroys UVs, can not even work with a UVproject Modifier #77841

I need to project a texture onto a remeshed geometry, but the modifier destroys Uvs altogether, not even working with a UVProject Modifier that comes after it. What gives??? I can understand that a vdb based generation could potentially destroy existing Uvs but this modifier should at least support a live projection that comes after it imo. The way it is at this point makes the modifier quite destructive in terms of workflow!!

Indeed this does seem like a bug to me. The Remesh modifier removes all UV map layers.

it handles uv fine untill remesh is applied

why such an idiotic "feature" ?

This isn't a bug but a known limitation of the remesh modifier-- it just doesn't propagate all attributes. That's something that can be added in the future, but it's not a bug, and therefore the tracker isn't the place for it.
