Short description of error
Data transfer modifier. Transfer of UV does not work.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I am attempting to transfer the UV mapping from one set of eyes to another.
Load up the attached blend file.
Select UMA_Human_Female_Eyes.
The Data Transfer modifier is already applied. It is copying from "EyeAdvanced_LOD0".
Check "Face corner data". Select "Nearest Face Interpolated" or "Projected Face Interpolated".
Select "UVs". Select "All Layers" or "UVChannel_1".
Make sure "Mix Mode is "Replace".
(Notice that "Face Data was automatically selected.)
Press "Generate Data Layers". It pauses. Nothing is transferred.
You can verify this by looking at the UV layout of UMA_Human_Female_Eyes, which is deliberately off center.B283DataTransferBug.blend

Not exactly sure if I understand correctly.
Pressing "Generate Data Layers" will just create UV Maps appropriately.
In your file, the
UVChannel_1
UVMap already seems to have the UVs applied from the modifier (even in its original/untransferred state)?Here is a simplified (and slightly modified) file in action showing that the UVs are indeed transferred:

(note: for the UVEditor to show the transferred UVs as well, you need a current 2.9 build from https://builder.blender.org/download/ -- the rest should be working in 2.83.3 as well...)

You are correct. I expected it to behave like the weight copying, replacing what was there. But you have to map the layer that it goes to. My apologies, closing as invalid.
