I downloaded the most recent version of Blender (2.83.4) and had and issue with it not wanting to start. It would open the command prompt window and then just crash. I then updated my graphics card drivers (GeForce GTX 1070) to its most recent update. After updating and restarting blender continued to do the same thing. So I ran an opengl32.dll and it is telling me that it wont run because my GPU isnt running and Opengl of 3.3 or higher yet im running 4.6 so im failing to see what the issue is.

Is there currently any version of Blender that works properly? Have you checked that Blender is using your dedicated graphics card and not the integrated one?

Please edit your bug report and add the following information:

  • system information (operating system, GPU, driver version)
  • last Blender version that works properly
  • format it like the submission template

If you can open a Blender version properly, please save the system information through Help > Save System Info (without using the opengl32.dll!) and attach the file to your bug report.

This seems like a duplicate of #72098, please try the following:

  • Open the Windows settings
  • Go to System > Display, scroll down and click Graphics Settings
  • Select Classic App in the drop-down and search for the Blender executable.
  • Open the Options for the new entry that appeared.
  • Select the energy mode that uses the integrated Intel GPU and save.
