System Information
Operating system: Windows 64 bit
Graphics card: RADEON RX 580

Blender Version
Broken:
Blender V2.83.5

Short description of error
I found that when i import an image sequence the sequence will come up in the plane with no texture. However this will only come up in cycles. If you reload the image sequence in evee it will work, but in cycles it will carry on being no texture with the bright purple. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as using another computer but got the same issue. Trying this in 2.82 and 2.90 works as intended with the images being seen but not in 2.83.5
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
images as plane add on activates
shift-A import images as planes
choose the image sequence and check the animated sequence box
import
the plane will be imported but with no textures
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

Poking at this a bit in Linux 2.90 Beta, it seems to be a refresh issue.

If you advance one frame after loading the image sequence, the images are there and all seems OK.

Does this happen only when using the add-on or also in general when working with sequences?
Since it works in 2.90+ and add-ons don't really receive LTS fixes, then we would consider this resolved.

Just a poke regarding my inquiry above, otherwise, we will have to archive this for now.
