Freeze when adding two principled volume shaders in one material (eevee)

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

When adding two principled volume shaders in one material, Blender freezes while using Eevee.

When setting up a volume shader on a cube using a principled volume shader node, if I add a second principled volume node in the same material node tree, the cube turns bright pink as if missing a texture, and Blender becomes unresponsive and must be force quit.

They don't even need to be connected in anyway

and come back when you mix them

it only happens with principled Volume BSDF, tho I didn't experience the freeze
