Short description of error
When a camera is linked, the camera safe areas (Title Safe Margins X, Y, and Action Safe Margins X,Y) are lost.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Link camera from file
  2. Compare safe areas values of linked camera vs camera in original file

Link the collection where the camera is

Thanks for the report, but no bug here, this is expected behavior, since those settings belong to the Scene, not the Camera data (Scene.safe_areas.…).

Thanks for answer. Ok I understand that it is not a bug, but I think this is not the expected behavior. These settings should be with the camera. If I understand well, you can not have multiple cameras with each their presets of safe areas ? And when you link the camera, you can't change these settings anymore ?

Please think about it : camera passepartout, camera limites display, camera mist display, camera sensor display, camera composition guides, camera depth of field, camera aperture, camera background images, camera clip start/end, camera shift... are ALL link to the camera, but not the safe areas.

It doesn't make sense, don't you think ? Why camera composition guides are related to camera and safe areas aren't? And the safe areas settings is in the camera panel, not scene panel.

@dono dono (dono) I do not personally find this really logical either, I guess when this was added the idea was that it was similar to render settings…

In any case, this discussion is not for a bug report, please use sites like devtalk for that purpose.
