System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.4.0-48-generic-x86_64-with-debian-bullseye-sid 64 Bits
Graphics card: Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 (HSW GT2) Intel Open Source Technology Center 4.5 (Core Profile) Mesa 20.0.8
Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-10-09 21:39, hash:
7ab8d7c939
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
It works fine in 2.90.1 and in yesterdays version of 2.91 (blender-2.91.0-2d5e38d4ece9-linux64, download). Just todays' version with the problem
Short description of error
[Please fill out a short description of the error here]
When selected in edit mode the Mesh: Snap_Utilities_Line "Make Line" tool causes the Blender window background to go black, some icons and screen text lose detail and become blocky. Blender is then unresponsive and not recoverable.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Enable the add-on Mesh: Snap_Utilities_Line
Open Blender 2.91 Alpha
Select the default cube
Enter edit mode
Click on the Make Line tool > Black screen etc.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue.
Can you update GPU drivers and recheck?
Can you also try older Blender versions like 2.90 and 2.83LTS?
From "Blender version" above "It works fine in 2.90.1 and in yesterdays version of 2.91 (blender-2.91.0-2d5e38d4ece9-linux64, download). Just todays' version with the problem"
I've worked with software developers many many years in my working life. They always blame it on the drivers. In my most humble experience it's virtually never the drivers!
It failed in two builds then worked again - I thought you guys had fixed it. It's fine now.

#81720 (Blender 2.91 crashes when enabling Archipack addon) might be related

@Stretch Based on your comment I assume this issue is fixed for you now and this ticket can be closed, is that correct?
Yes, thanks. Works perfectly now. Cheers
