System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.8.15-201.fc32.x86_64-x86_64-with-fedora-32-Thirty_Two 64 Bits

Graphics card: Radeon RX550/550 Series ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.14736 Core Profile Context 20.8.3 27.20.12027.1001
Glich looks like image in steps to reproduce

Graphics card: Mesa DRI Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2) Intel Open Source Technology Center 4.2 (Core Profile) Mesa 20.1.9
The glitch is a constant flickering while rendering, in the statusbar in the upper left, which shows the time rendered, time remaining, memory usage.

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.91.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-10-17 21:36, hash: f425f40c4e
Worked: Never

Short description of error
Stereoscopy render flashes 3 different colors in status line

@dfelinto! I do not know if this is a bug or a feature, but after we spoke about stereoscopy renders last friday, I thought I would give it a go / test run.

I used a Factory reset (leaving the default cube in place) with Alpha f425f40c4e, enabled Stereoscopy with default settings and pressed F12 to render, which worked fine, however the statusline at the top of the Render window flashes its status with white, red and cyan colors. Is this a feature / meant to be or is it a bug...?

This on an older Apple MacBook Pro with a fully up-to-date Fedora 32, but also on the same machine running with macOS X 10.15.6 Catalina.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open new General template
  • Enable stereoscopy

Render animation, while rendering, move rendered image around

You should see, very briefly, something like in following image:

Here is screenshot of the glitch that I can see. It was only visible for ~30ms. @Memento is this what you are describing?

There is better chance of reproducing when you are moving with rendered image. Perhaps rendering heavier files would cause this as well.
I remember this being issue even with 2.79, where glitches were even worse to this may be technical limitation.

By the way, HD Graphics 4000 is not supported GPU. See https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/

@iss The glitch is a constant flickering while rendering, in the statusbar in the upper left, which shows the time rendered, time remaining, memory usage. Those numbers and their explaining meanings are rapidly flickering between white, red and cyan colors, while I personally think they should remain at a steady white...

Thanks for calrification.

I think, I will keep steps to reproduce as I have modified, to make sure developer can reproduce the problem. There is good chance that the root cause of the issue will be same for your case. Though I will update description.

Perhaps not a steady white but the color set in the Blender theme preferences...
