System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1050 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 456.38

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.83.8, branch: master, commit date: 2020-10-21 08:12, hash: 5949b796f0
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Initial Frame look.png
Short description of error
Checking "Crop" and changing the values (left, right, top, bottom) will STRETCHthe frame instead of actually cropping it. Now with Crop Only checked Makes the Frame Strech.png
Checking Offset will make the frame change location/position even though its values are unchanged yet (still 0) IFthe crop values are changed. Offset checked now the frame has changed position even though the offset values are still 0.png
Changing the values in the Crop settings will change the position of the frame ifthe values are changed for Leftand Bottom. In other words, the cropping mechanism allows frame cropping through the change of frame position.
Left and Bottom Crop value changed the frame now is changing position instead of actually cropping.png The frame will crop but it will have to repositionitself, depending on the crop value of left and bottom. No problem withRightand Top. The crop works as intended: the frame is cropped properly by the input value. Right and Top crop perfectly and only under the condition of having offet checked.png Keep in mind that this is done onlyunder the condition of having the Offset checked.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open Blender 2.83.8
  • Choose Video Editing
  • Import video file or image file
  • Check Crop
  • Change any values in Crop
  • Check Offset
  • Change Offset Values for Left & Bottom
  • Reset the Offset values to 0

Change Values for Right & Top

[Based on the default startup. Change the FPS value will not make any difference]

@iss: do you want to keep this open?

Will add D8393: Media transform redesign as a revision here (since this will take care of all this)
