System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT ATI Technologies Inc. 4.5.14736 Core Profile Context 20.11.1 27.20.12033.2007

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.90.1, branch: master, commit date: 2020-09-23 06:43, hash: 3e85bb34d0

Short description of error
[Blender doesn't use open Cl with my Graphics card in Cycles. After enabling open CL by selecting my card in "user preferences", blender displays " loading render canals" and then closes itself (crashes).]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Step-1: Open blender with the default cube setup.
Step-2: Go to user preferences.
Step-3: Open system tab.
Step-4: Select open CL.
Step-5: Select Radeon Rx 5700xt ( if you have one) and close the window.
Step-6: Go to render properties tab and select cycles.
Step-7: Select GPU in "device".
Step-7: Open rendered view in viewport by pressing "Z" key on keyboard.

No file is attached. This error occurs every time I render something, even with the default blender scene.

Thanks for your time!

I have also the same problem.

Production station was installed sometime in March and running fine even after upgrading Ubuntu to 20.04 with the following:
1 AMD Vega 64 (compute OpenCL) Driver 20.10
1 Nvidia 780Ti (video out) Any driver worked fine.

Blender Version from 2.82 to 2.90.1

Then... disaster.... I bough a rx 5700 xt and updated AMD drivers to 20.40, now I can render (slower than the 780ti), viewport rendered view last about 5 min to complete and baking just doesn't work.

Tried reinstalling 18.04+20.10 pro drivers and no luck.
Tried reinstalling 20.04+20.4 pro drivers and no luck.
Tried multiple hardware combinations... vega+nvida, vega+5700, 5700 alone, vega alone, nothing seems to work.

Added everything I could reach googling out so far like (and this is just a short list):
opencl-headers
opencl-amdgpu-pro
opencl-amdgpu-pro-dev
ocl-icd-libopencl

Just baking the default cube crash my system and the card hangs at 100% activity.

I've found segmentation fault here and there.... orca something not found... and plain crashes without any info and close.

Any luck anyone?

Yup, same issue here. Using Radeon Enterprises for Vega 64.

Issue arises only on preview though. it renders fine. Everything works as intended on Blender 2.9, the bug exists only in 2.91.

UPDATE: fixed it by uninstalling and then reinstalling the latest Enterprise Drivers, reinstalling Blender and uninstalling Radeon ProRender.

Likely what did it was updating the Enterprise drivers.

Someone should check that the source isn't "borrowed" from a cryptocurrency miner.

Roumor has it nV is blocking using the CUDA cores for mining in their latest drivers & may be coming out with a dedicated miner card.
