System Information
Operating system: WIN 10
Graphics card: NVidia GeForce 860M

Blender Version
Broken:
(example: 2.90.1 release)
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error

Hello!
Today, Cycles render mode just dissapeared in my Render modes. (just have Eevee and Workbench available)
I can't find it in the Add-ons either.

I reinstalled Blender a couple of times, restarted the system, opened multiple different files - nothing helps.

What should I do to bring it back?

Just avoid any misunderstanding:

  • Cycles is not listed as add-on in Edit > Preferences > Add-ons?
  • If Cycles is listed there and activated (checkbox is enabled), have you checked if Cycles is filtered in the workspace? Sidebar {key N} > Tool > Workspace > Filter Add-ons needs to be disabled
  • If Cycles cannot be found in the preferences, can you open Blender's installation directory and check if 2.90\scripts\addons\cycles is there?
  • If the latter can be found, have you tried loading the factory settings? File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings and Edit > Preferences > Save Preferences.

I did and checked everything you said, it didn't help, issue is still on.
One interesting thing, when I load my Blender files from the current project, to my friends computer - Cycles are on.
And on my system they dissapear by default after some time.

Maybe there's a problem with older systems...
