System Information
Operating system: Happens on Mac 11.01 Big Sur, & Win 10 latest update
Graphics card: NVIDIA 960 & MBP, late 2015

Blender Version
Broken: blender-2.92.0-9b11a7776f2a-windows64
Worked: not sure, as I do not have multiple versions of Blender on this machine

Exact steps for others to reproduce the errormonochidium lunum.blend

  • Create a simple mesh.
  • Put a few edge loops on it.
  • Select an edge loop and shrink it.
  • Attempt to adjust the amount of shrinkage by entering a numerical value in the dialogue.

This is the point at which the application crashed regardless of the system (Mac or PC)

A visual of the crash
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

can confirm with the reported file with:

System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.8.0-2-amd64-x86_64-with-debian-bullseye-sid 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 450.66

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.92.0 Alpha, branch: (modified) but not in that area, commit date: 2020-12-09 06:33, hash: ebe4bf6286

But then I compiled the newest version and the crash does not happen.

Blender Version
Fixed: version: 2.92.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-12-10 17:07, hash: a7fcca1062

can you confirm that?

@snakeblade Just as a tip, in case you weren't aware, you can use {key Shift Alt LMB} to select edge loops.

Thanks, Gentlemen! - I will download the latest daily build and test. Also thanks for the select tip. I'm a lefty (using LMBvs. RMB as the primary button) and wonder if that works on the right side of the keyboard? Often I can't get the shortcuts to work.

@snakeblade It depends on your keymap, but if it's the default Blender keymap then it should work. When in doubt check Edit > Preferences > Keymap.

Confirming it's also fixed on the DEC 11 build blender-2.92.0-caed4849d090

Thanks again - shortcuts def don't all work when LMB is the primary button, but that's another bug. Thanks, Blender Team

@snakeblade You need to switch the {key LMB} for {key RMB}, if you set your selection to {key RMB}. For you it would be {key Shift Alt RMB}, so this is not a bug. You need to place your mouse cursor on an edge though, in case that wasn't clear.
