Short description of error
clay strip brush (and probably any brush) create some strange shading and geometry artifacts...

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. open blender, subdivide the default cube in edit mode a few times,
  2. add subdiv modifier with 3 levels (25,1 million in total) and apply modifier.
  3. go to sculpt mode and start playing with the clay strip brush and brush settings a little bit...
  4. change the sculpt plane to view plane, and add a stroke continuously in the edge of the cube, and some transparent shading bug appears when i go to check the back side of the stroke made, but this get fixed when i use the smooth brush a little bit in those boundary edges...

  5. change the sculpt plane to area plane again, and try on other edge the same again, and some grid topology starts to appear suddenly in the first stroke when drawing, but when i keep drawing it was less noticeable the artifact but was still there...

hello yes i just tried at this moment, and still the same problem appears with the same ultra subdivided default cube...

Hi, I think it's related to #75687.

Can you see if Tip Roundness set to 1.000 will make artefacts more apparent?
After artefacts are shown, can you smooth area once and then undo to see if they're gone?

seem to be still present with and without front faces checked and with or without low or high tip roundness, and i think the problem when front faces is toggled off is obvious but i think should be amended anyways...

and pressing undo and redo the transparent face artifact seems to disappear, without having to smooth it...

I think I was able to reproduce this. This is when I tried to follow step 4, sculpting with different brush then fixes the surface as described.

Step 5 is also easily reproducible. Not sure whether these are same bug or 2 different bugs though

Just to add some context. I can also still easily reproduce the bug just by using a high radius clay strips brush.
It seems to have a hard time between PBVH leaf nodes:
