System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 456.71

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.92.0 Alpha, branch: master, commit date: 2020-12-27 21:45, hash: aa64fd69e7

Short description of error
The entries for the node tool tool shelf buttons doesn't show in regular view in the keymap manager. They just show when you search for them by node.select

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

The buttons in the tool shelf have each a own category in the keymap. For the box select tool in the 3d view that's for example four entries in the category 3D View Tool: Select Box.

The entries for the toolshelf buttons in the node editor does not show. You have to search it, with "node.select" for example, then they come up. But they do not show in the regular keymap list in the Node category. And nowhere else, at least from what i can say. I have spent an hour now to expand the whole keymap tree, and couldn't find it. I have modified it to get the restore button that should lead me to the keymap item, and also no luck.

In fact, I can't find keyitems without using search.
The search engine shouldn't be that required.
So I am confirming as a bug.

I've looked into this for a bit. It actually looks like none of the keymaps for the tool system (active tools) are added to the hierarchy in the keymap section of the preferences.

I find the code in this area hard to understand, and I haven't been making much progress, so I'm going to move on for now.

Apparently, this problem involves other keymaps such as all that start with the name "Generic Gizmo":

Is this going to ever be fixed? The report is 3 years old. The fact that even experienced developers can't find their way around in the keymap code is quite concerning.
