Operating system: Windows 10
Graphics card: GTX 1080 ti

Blender Version
Broken: 2.92
Worked: 2.91, 2.90, 2.82

Certain objects appear correctly in all viewports, cycles and eevee etc. But they don't render in 2.92 Cycles or Eevee.

Load the .blend file. Render image.

Could you try and reduce the file size to under 100MB by removing everything that is not necessary?

Hi Falk. I've culled a lot of stuff from the file to the extent there are only two bits of the mesh remaining, the can cylinder sides and the rim. I've also made it so only one texture is being used. For some reason the file is still 165MB - I suspect because of the texture which is a Poliigon Metalness texture. The error still occurs in 2.92 and still works fine in the others I have.

Can the file size in itself be causing 2.91 to do this? I have 64GB of Ram.Plain_Tomato_Can_Sm.blend

Looking through some of my other blend files, many are well over 100MB and don't do this.

I have had situations where with both 2.91 and 2.92 rendering crashes Blender. So for animations in particular I have taken to rendering using Chris P's command line script which is great. But I think that is something different.

You could try going to File>Clean Up and then see if there are any unused data-blocks. The smaller file is already quite a bit smaller, so thank you.

I don't think so.

Which objects are we talking about?
This is what I get:

Cycles

Eevee
eevee.png

Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Here is what I get in Cycles in 2.92. In all my other versions it's fine. Maybe I downloaded en early beta and just need to update it? I haven't had this with any other jobs. If the latest 2.92 is fine then I'll just reinstall. Can_2.92_blend.png

Could you install and test the latest version of 2.92?

Done and it works fine now. Must have been a buggy release.

Thank you.
