Short description of error
I rendered a video from within blender and it crashed (see crash dump). It rendered out the video fine via command line render...

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Unfortunately this is a really big movie project so I cannot upload the actual blend but I use the VSE a lot lately and I suggest to try the following:
I can provide screenshots but I believe it comes from the Glow Effect Layer applied to an appended scene. Other than that I have no clue why it would work from the CMD but not from inside Blender since there are no complicated 3d scenes appended that can make Blender run out of memory quickly. All I know is the Meta Strips inside meta strips with some transform are very laggy and the Glow effect strips can make Blender crash easily when applied to an linked scene.
Have an awesome day!

Thanks for the report.
Since I don't have .ext sequences on my computer (and I don't exactly understand the steps "append external blend files" and "add them as strips"), this report is too time-consuming for me to track down to confirm and be able to forwarding to developers.
A .blend file would be very useful. Normally .blend files can be simplified by removing most objects and disabling settings, until the problem reveals itself more clearly.
You were asking for a .blend file. Sorry but I worked in this project for 2 years and the file is so big that it is multiple files and they are 1gigabyte or soemthing in size...I mentioned that in the description
I changed the description from append to link from external but if you don't understand "append external .blend files" then maybe you are not the right person for this task anyways!
I believe that is of critical importance. I mentioned that in the description.
Annyhow, I got it to work for myself via rendering from CMD so if it is too much work for you, it is too much work for me... I just wanted to share the crash dump and thought you know what it has to say... I might go ahead and make a ticket specifically for the Glow Effect if that happens again.
Thanks for the reply, "link scenes from external blend files" makes more sense (since scenes can be added as strips).
But ew still require a .blend file.
Since there are many reports, the triaging prioritizes those that can be reproduced and we require the bug reporter to narrow down the problem.

Please try to redo the crash in a new, simple blend file and share that.
