I've got more or less the exact same crash which is interesting, because I run a completely different setup. I install the latest build via snap on Linux (Ubuntu 20.04.2)

# Python backtrace

I've tried several different versions now, and all seem to exhibit similar behavior.

  • 2.92/stable
  • 2.90/stable
  • 2.83lts/stable
  • 2.81/stable
  • 2.80/stable

And I'm almost positive that I've used 2.80 just after its launch and that worked...

@lindhe Please create a separate bug report. Based on the stack trace it doesn't seem to be the same issue. Yours appears to be an issue with the integrated graphics driver.

In fact, although the report indicates that the GPU used is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, the blender.crash.txt shows a driver used by Intel graphics - ig9icd64.dll.
So I will close this report as a duplicate.
