84da05a8b8
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Short description of error
I can't do Select multiple objects using the outliner. It's focused on outliner but not with object on viewport.
For example have sorted objects by names on outliner and want move all somewhere, I can select on outliner, but not on viewport coz are far and in depth of other objects.
Due this case hard to select object on viewport and on outliner not helping here (just move to collection, etc.)
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
I reporting this like bug, coz I can't find any sense reason to work with this in this way.
Users resolved this by some script, but after 8 years ago this is not supported more in b > 2.68

If I understand correctly, objects are not highlighting when they are selected from outliner. This is what you are trying to say?
Right. This is problem.

@ManBlender When you select objects in the outliner they should get selected in the viewport. Please provide step by step instructions what you are doing in Blender and explain exactly what step fails to work properly.
With regards to selecting multiple objects in the outliner: Selecting one object in the outliner and then using {key Shift LMB} in the outliner on another object will select all objects between the two as well. The {key Ctrl LMB} can be used to add objects to the current selection in the outliner.
@rjg I know it's working with ctr+object but not with shift on outliner - not always..?
I recorded video.

This is is file{F10181633}
shift+LMB.blend
Problem can be related with moving objects to collections both from viewport and on outliner (select with shift and move).
I noticed that bug is not saved on file - I think, but time ago I meet this same on first open file and trying do this operation as first operation.
Still not recognized well this issue.
Ok, I think I can replicated the steps that doing this issue from first operation after file open in continous procedure and can be repeated any time (pls confirm). I just do append for "shift+LMB.blend" into new and I can meet this issue all time.

Select multiple objects using the outliner sucks! :Dto Selection of multiple objects in the outliner is not always in sync with the viewport@ManBlender I'm sorry I'm still unable to reproduce the problem, your instructions are difficult to understand.
shift+LMB.blend
to the default startup scene to reproduce the issue? Please provide precise step by step instructions! If you have difficulties describing the steps in English it might also be helpful to include a description in your native language so we might be able to piece together what we need to do to reproduce the bug.
When I appended the
Collection
fromshift+LMB.blend
to the startup scene in 2.93 and 3.0 and select objects in the outliner with {key LMB}, {key Shift LMB} and {key Ctrl LMB} I'm not able to get the viewport to desync. The selection in the viewport always matched for me.After open gatch_you2_.blend in Blender 3.0 still can reproduce the issue.

Yes, try append this
shift+LMB.blend
to other, new .blend file or any other your own togatch_you2_.blend
Collection. Try create own file eg. 3 cubes in 2 collections and append to
gatch_you2_.blend
Select 3,4,5 cubes as objects in outliner with
Shift
. Eg. 3th cube click by LMB and 5th withshfit
+ LMB to get range betwen first and last some object that should be included in selction (should be activaed by outline but is not). The last 2 files (gatch_you2.blend1) and current (gatch_you2_.blend) in this post for me confirming that objects are not selected in range selection (just first click is included to outline in outliner not all) after open in first case when I try do select on range names.
If You not meeting the problem on
gatch_you2_.blend
then strange..On
shift+LMB.blend
can't reproduce this problem in simple way after starting selection. Need to move objects betwen collections, then collections betwen collections (by outliner, and contex menu from viewport.. not soo easy). But on
gatch_you2_.blend
can do this after appendshift+LMB.blend
or any other after append simple collections with objects.英語をお詫びします

@ManBlender Thank you for the quick update, I can reproduce the issue with the new instructions. We will have to investigate what the cause is.
It appears that you have Sync Selection disabled. Click on the filter icon in the outliner and enable Sync Selection. It should work properly afterwards.

ROFL.. I can't believe.. again made some problem due settings and configs. Like QCS slots last time..
But was is good reason to use
Sync Selection
?I need actual repo with manual html to translate it to bether remeber this type small.
BTW how You discover this difference on files? What type of tool You using for this? Can I do this type comparison by own? Maybe can more easy resolve my problems in future.
Can be closed, coz change settings resoled problem.
Sorry again.
The option exists because sometimes you want to move multiple objects into collections without changing the selection in the viewport.
The manual page for the Outliner options can be found here .
The first thing I tested is whether this issue also happens in a new Layout workspace. Since it didn't, I checked if this still happens when I add another outliner. The new outliner didn't have the issue either. That made it likely that there was an option set for that particular outliner that prevented the selection from being synchronized. While I checked the settings, I noticed that Sync Selection was disabled.

Repo, I mind files on github or other..
Take attention that many of this html files are not translated.. and whole GUI have leak of support from other languages, this can be problem.
https://docs.blender.org/manual/de/3.0/editors/file_browser.html#toolbar (DE/German but English)
Soo.. no an tools for this type where we dev can comapre files? Eg.
Data API
positions, objects relations, etc.?Coz in notepad++ or other it's imposible to read .blend file
Internationalization is a community effort. Unfortunately, we don't have full translations of everything in every language yet (manual, interface). For some they are more complete than others though.
The *.blend files are binary files and closely related to the in memory representation at runtime. You can of course check for specific things through the Python API, but as far as I'm aware there is no tool for comparing two *.blend files like there are for text / source code.
