System Information
Operating system: Linux-5.11.0-7614-generic-x86_64-with-glibc2.31 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 460.73.01

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.1, branch: master, commit date: 2021-06-22 05:57, hash: 1b8d33b18c
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
[When usign Sync to Audio under Timelime settings, playback stops unexpectedly, in Linux not on same Blender version on windows{F10230525}

POP OS (Bug)
Pop OS Sync to Audio Test.mp4

Windows (Expected Results)
Windows Sync to Audio Test.mp4

{F10230522}]

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Load attached Blend file in a Pop OS system. Set timeline settings to Sync with Audio and hit the space bar. In my experience the animation player stops unexpectedly. My expectation based on the functionality experienced in Windows see attached video file, Where using the Sync to Audio setting allows the video to play in sync with the audio and only stops when the users requests a stop. Upon further inspection I am able to "unstuck" the animation player by opening multiple blender windows.

I have just gone through and re-tested all my Pop OS Machines and I was unable to reproduce the bug so lets just mark this as archived. My apologizes. I will reopen if I figure out what I was experiencing.
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

Hi, I have exactly the same bug on multiple machines, all running Linux Mint 20.1 Cinnamon.
Activating Sync to Audio break the playback even on a fresh file without any sounds loaded in VSE.

Here are my system infos :
