System Information
Operating system: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.59 GHz
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeFORCE RTX 2070 SUPER
Blender Version
Broken: 2.92.0 and all other versions.
Worked: N/A
Short description of error
Every time when i use Blender in general. The power usage spikes up, lagging the whole thing. And when i move to a different program and back. it blackens my screens and Blender shut itself down. Reinstalling doesn't work and restarting the computer is only a temporary fix. And using the latest Blender program 2.93.1 LTS only does the same result.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Both of these examples end with the same results

@WishToon ,thanks for the report. Please provide the system information generated from the help menu (help -> Save System Info`)
Seen some similar reports before but couldn't find at the moment.
If the crash happen for multiple version then it's possibly an issue with the driver or OS.
Does the issue continue after upgrading the driver?: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html
system-info.txt
Not so much as an upgrade but a brand new PC. I did however check mark both CPU and GPU in Cycle Render Device in Preference -> System a couple hours ago. It just had GPU running alone and since then I haven't experience a random shut down or lag for some time now.
Thanks for the file. Please check if the loading the factory settings fixes the issue. (
File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Settings
)Seen some add-ons are enabled. Possibly add-ons could be the reason for crash (can't say though).
I reset to Load Factory Setting, but i don't know if its fix yet. Have to continue on using to program to see if that's the case.
But i could remove a add-on (boxcutter), had this install just before the program crash.

How much power does your power supply have?
The hard shut-down indicates a power supply problem in my opinion; either not enough power, or a defect...
I use a Kratos m1 550b.
If your power supply really delivers 550 watts, then that should be just enough, but if the power supply is not 550 watts,
but only 480 watts and you have many power consumers in your PC, then the power will not be enough. This would explain your power peak and your following black screen.
Try it again with the latest Blender version:
https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/blender-2.93.2-stable+v293.1eb06de2607a-windows.amd64-release.zip
and install the latest Nvidia driver for your system.
If this doesn't solve your problem, try to change your power supply (same power or better a stronger one!).
Pratik Borhade, I tried out your method for load reset and remove said add-on. It did however ran nicely for a few hours on the same day with the internet browser on. But as a new day rise, i got the power peak within 30 minutes of run time.
I'll go ahead and try out Pinus method next.
If factory settings somehow fixes the issue then please save the preferences after loading them.
Loading the factory settings do not auto-save the prefs. Opening any new scene after factory setting again brings back the old prefs.
Also please test again with the fresh builds: https://builder.blender.org/download/daily/
Does that help to resolve the issue?
I am not sure if the issue is related to power supply or else (also: I not familiar with it).
None of the solution solved the issue, it was however running fine till now when I added the Mirror Modifier after deleting half of the book model. It chug the program and had to restart the computer once more.

Can you open Blender from the
blender_debug_log.cmd
in the same folder as the blender.exe file? When it crashes, it should write a crash report as described here. https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/troubleshooting/crash.htmlCan you share the logs after that?

No activity for more than a week. As per the tracker policy we assume the issue is gone and can be closed.
Thanks again for the report. If the problem persists please open a new report with the required information.
