SHOWSTOPPER: Geometry nodes tree can't be recreated anymore, in any scenes! #90910

System Information
version: 2.93.3, branch: master, commit date: 2021-08-17 18:30, hash: 8b80d19f36, type: release
build date: 2021-08-17, 23:47:11
platform: Windows
renderer: 'NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090/PCIe/SSE2'
vendor: 'NVIDIA Corporation'
version: '4.5.0 NVIDIA 471.68'

Short description of error
Please open my example scene first.
I was able to create the geometry nodes setup named "working" just one time.

I'm not able to recreate the same setup anymore, even in completely empty scenes or within the origin scene as a new setup.
For comparism the second cube in my scene has a recreated geometry setup named "not-working". The "not-working" setup has identical nodes, but doesn't work.

The bug appears also on other blender installations (2.93.3) on other PCs.
This seem to be a heavy bug.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Try to recreate my setup in a new geometry nodes tree. The result behaves completely different/wrong.

What is wrong here?

Thank you
Chris

In the "not-working" the second node is a Vector Multiply, while in the "working" it is a "Vector Add". So I'm closing this since this is not a bug.

That said, your report helped me to identify another issue (#90914), thanks for that.

Well, multiply by (0,0,0) is not such a good idea in this context:

Change it back to Add and you should be good to go.
Does not seem to be a bug here, will close.

Thank you guys.

Yes it was my fault to not to use Multiply, but I've seen it doesn't work as expected nevertheless.
Reason: The second object is not subdivided.

Please try to scale the texture of the second "not-working" model. It doesn't work.

Seem the geometry nodes distribution node need a highly subdivided quad model to work? Streched faces results in stretched distribution. So the object texture coordinates seem to be ignored?

@dfelinto You're welcome.

Here's a version, where the second "not-working" object isn't working. Reason: No subdivisions.
But subdividing objects is not an option.

Is there a way to get object world coordinates in geometry nodes? (2.93.3 LTS)

Not a bug, User error.

1 Objects UVs are different
2 Attributes are different.

In your original file one object had the subdivision modifier while the other didn't have.

For general support see https://www.blender.org/community .

Yes, I know. I was in hurry... sorry for this.
Here's an updated version. cw-object-coordinates-bug-003.blend

@dfelinto Ok. I take a look into it. Thank you.
