Short description of error
With the attached file, when you render with F12 while edit mode or particle edit mode is active in the viewport, the hairs are not rendered. In Eevee this does not occur.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open attached file, select the bezier curve
Press f12 to render while in object mode -> hairs are rendered
Switch to edit mode or particle edit mode and press F12 -> hairs are not rendered

I can confirm this behaviour, but EEVEE and Cycles behave differently in Particle Edit Mode.

Ah yes you are right, I only tried Eevee with particle edit mode, not edit mode.
