System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 21H1
Graphics card: RTX 3070

Blender Version
Broken: 3.0.0-beta,v30.b838eaf2b960
Worked: 2.93.5

Short description of error
Volumes with transparent BSDF are rendering very differently to 2.93 and the transparency seems to be ignored. Both CPU and GPU show this difference

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Load this scene into blender and hit F12.

This appears to be a change in the solidify modifier behavior with negative thickness in Complex mode.

I've attached a .blend with face orientation overlay to demonstrate it. The normals are pointing inside, and for Cycles volume rendering this is not supported. In 2.93 they were pointing outside.

@HDMaster84 might know if this was intentional.

1454865ebb should be the latest change to that solidify behavior, but it was from 2.90 to 2.91, I will test the file and check if there is a change that I am not aware of and report back.

This is caused by D11832. Seems like there is a real bug. The goal of that patch was to match complex solidify more closely to simple solidify. That is not the case anymore if the thickness is negative.
