Tested it on my Mac 11.6.2 (Big Sur) with Radeon Pro 580 (8 GB).
File crashes instantly when opening.
I'm able to identify which object causes crash (PowerLines), but is there any way to delete it? I tried background mode and write a script but it's not even getting to script execution and crashes before that. Are there any blend file content editors? Or is there an API to load blend file without trying to build/render it so that I could manipulate objects and remove/fix the broken one? Also it worked for quite a while when I was building the scene and that specific object was working and it started crashing on totally unrelated action.

@efreeti if you really need to recover corrupted file, you will have to either append objects to new .blend file or make custom Blender build where you force code to not crash so you are able to do corrections you need. I have done this once by setting up workspace with only outliner and in preferences set to keep UI when opening new file.

https://docs.blender.org/api/4.2/bpy.types.Mesh.html#bpy.types.Mesh.validate will also get rid of the corruption, so you could also append the scene from the crashy file, dont switch that scene yet though, run the
validatecommand and only then switch to the appended scene. You shouldnt get a crash then.Mesh corruption is not considered a bug per se, in order to proceed with the report (sorry btw. it has been lying around for so long), we would have reproduction steps that led to the mesh corruption. Things that may cause mesh corruption: Importers, development versions of Blender, modeling tools. @efreeti : any idea how this happened?
