Operating system: Win10
Graphics card: GTX 1070

Broken: 3.0.0

There are some changes in shading, but here I don't see any functional difference between 3.0 and 2.93.

Sorry I have deleted my request - check if updating GPU driver helps.

I am in the latest studio drivers, updated driver not 2 days ago and the behavior I describe is the same, can't see through the faces in weight paint mode, the x-ray slider does nothing, but when x-ray is enabled I can select through the mesh.

I also see no differences between 2.93LTS and 3.0.0

Any luck with factory preferences:? {nav Edit > Preferences > Save & Load (3 horizontal lines) > Load Factory preferences}image.png

Is it possible for you to make a screen recording of the issue?

Are you able to reproduce with this file?:#94704.blend

In that file there are 2 objects and after enabling weight paint mode the cube object remains transparent and the sphere stays visible, sadly that is not what I meant, what I meant is being able to see through the sphere if I enable weight paint mode with x-ray, or even better if I enable weight paint in the cube object, I am able not only to see the back side of the cube but I can even see the sphere inside in 2.9 but not on 3.0, tried loading default settings as suggested but the result is the same, yes I can record this but is there a problem if I post a mega or mediafire link for the video since the file is around 110MB, not really sure about rules on posting external links here so I thought I'd ask first.

I can't reproduce such behavior on 2 different machines and I am not sure if such behavior would be desirable. You should be able to see bones through the mesh. A video demonstrating this would be helpful, so far it sounds like a bug in 2.93 version though.

Yes I can see bones through the mesh but I was able to see through the mesh too, I use that when I use vertex masking to see what vertex I am selecting and I don't have to jump into edit mode to make my selection, I also work with only one object at a time so other objects are not a problem, not sure about posting external links but here it goes, both are pretty much a demonstration of the same thing but one uses the blend file provided above.
