Ctrl + L not selecting al faces of an object #97884

System Information
Operating system: WIndows 10
Graphics card: GTX 1080 Ti

Blender Version
Broken: (3.1.2)
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error

Selecting a face and pressing Ctrl+L is not selecting all faces of the object. Was working fine yesterday, and still works on the default cube project, but will not work on any of my own projects. Selecting a face and pressing Ctrl+L only brings up the "Selected Link All" menu, of which none of the options do anything.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).

CTRL + L in edit mode, which is equivalent to Select > Select Linked > Linked, will select connected geometry (see Blender's manual for details). If the geometry in your own projects is not connected, e.g. due to non-manifold geometry, disconnected faces, ... then it will not select the entire mesh, only those parts that are connected.

You can check if you have non-manifold geometry by deselecting everything in edit mode and then applying Select > Select All by Trait > Non Manifold. Does this identify issues in the geometry of your own project?

Thanks for the response, but my "Select All by Trait" menu doesn't seem to have a "Non Manifold" option. I checked the others to be sure but I don't see it anywhere. And if that is the case, is there any way to connect them? There are a lot of rounded edges on this model so it would save me a bunch of time. Untitled.jpg

Alternatively, you can enable the 3D-Print Toolbox add-on in Edit > Preferences > Add-ons. Once enabled, you can use click on Check All in the sidebar for a series of tests.

@mrcap21 Could you check whether this issue is caused by disconnected geometry?
