System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22000-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 512.13

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.2.0 Beta, branch: master, commit date: 2022-05-12 16:38, hash: 018acc5688
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

I tested 2.93.9 - and the same problem occurred.

Short description of error
[Please fill out a short description of the error here]

I am animating wavelike motion through radial tubes with color ramp and wave texture. For this I am using the array and curve modifiers. Upon opening the file, the wave happens in a linear fashion, unlike what I want. However, if I disable the object in viewport, then re-enable it, it works as I want. If I then revert to saved, the problem reappears. Note, I can also disable the curve modifier, then re-enable it, and it then works as expected.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
[Please describe the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue]

Open the file. Use "Viewport Shading - Rendered." Play animation. Observe the motion. Then, disable-in-viewport the object called "xmuta.horiz.mesh" (or its curve modifier.) Re-enable it. Observe the motion. This should show the intended outgoing and incoming waves.

Can confirm that Generated texture coords change after disable/enable a curve modifier [which is than reset on file save and reload].

Suggested workaround: use UV coords, these are stable across sessions.

Looks like a bug though.

Happens for other modifers, too (e.g. Simple Deform).
Wondering if this is somewhat expected, needs another look with fresh eyes...
