System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19044-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 512.95

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.1.2, branch: master, commit date: 2022-03-31 17:40, hash: blender/blender@cc66d1020c
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Addon Information
Name: Cell Fracture (0, 2)
Author: ideasman42, phymec, Sergey Sharybin

Short description of error
I used Cell Fracture to create cracks, but it splits all of my faces in half.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add cube, apply Cell Fracture, Point Source to Own Verts with Recursion to 1 and Source Limit to 2. A Clamp Recursion to 100 and set to Big. This will make the cube split halfway at each face, and generate strange geometry.

This is likely the expected behavior. If the fracture points are too uniform, as is the case with a cube, the cells will also be uniform. Maybe what you expect is irregular cells, in which case, using a particle system with random particles would probably give you want you want. Does that make sense?
