Face Is Planar Node: Rotating a plane makes it non-planar #98718

Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
Face is planar node has unreliable erratic behavior including marking a plane non-planar if it's rotated. There were several other weird behaviors like parts of a mesh considered non-planar by distances several times larger than the mesh itself. Note the applied scale, edge length, and threshold. This feature feels like nobody even tried it before committing.

Also maybe not the place to talk about design but this should really be scale-independent.

Make a plane, add geo nodes, apply material if face is planar, move and rotate plane

Also in this video in this tweet, I have a single face, duplicated, moved and scaled multiple times, and only the middle one is marked planar. This makes no sense in any scenario involving a threshold. https://twitter.com/floatharr/status/1534823120032374784

You can actually just make a cube and move it in edit mode, or move the origin, and any face facing positive direction will be marked non-planar.
