System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22000-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 511.81

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.2.0, branch: master, commit date: 2022-06-08 10:22, hash: e05e1e3691
Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)

Short description of error
NLA Editor Tracks cannot be renamed (previously done by double-clicking on label).

Double clicking doesn't work (used to work on 3.1), F2 doesn't work, right-clicking produces no options to rename.Screenshot 2022-06-22 080950.jpg

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Double click on an NLA editor track to rename it - nothing will happen.
[Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible)]

This functions works normally in Blender Alpha 3.3 (June 22). Sorry for any time wasted?

If I understand correctly, it works in 3.3 but not in 3.2. If it is the case, it might be eligible to be included in a corrective release.

But I can't reproduce the issue on either 3.2 or master. In your screenshot, you marked some of the tracks as 3.2 and some as 3.1, what do you mean by that?
Is the issue about loading files that were saved in 3.1?

Thanks for getting back to me, Omar.

Yes, that is correct.

The tracks marked as 3.1 were tracks that I renamed successfully when I opened my file in Blender 3.1. The tracks marked in red as 3.2 were tracks that I cannot change when I have the file open in Blender 3.2.

I've uploaded a video below to show you what's happening.

Thank you for your help with this.

Best

Gary

As I still can't reproduce it, can you attach the file after simplifying it as much as possible?

Hi Omar,

I think it's best we leave this here, because when I try to recreate the problem in a dummy scene file, it's no longer happening. There is clearly an issue with my specific scene file rather than Blender 3.2.

Sorry to have wasted your time - I'll try to replicate errors like this more thoroughly before I report a bug in future!

Thanks again for the speedy support on this.

Best
Gary

Okay, if this issue ever come up again, we can handle it then.

I think this one could be related to #98686 which is that NLA tracks that are being added to linked data blocks cannot be renamed. I am facing this issue and the file I am working with has a lot of linked assets that I am animating with. In 3.1 I could rename the NLA tracks, but in 3.2 I cannot.
